Gene Simmons – The Demon

Born on August 25, 1949, Gene Simmons is an Israeli-American rock bassist, singer and businessman. He is identified as “The Demon“, the bassist of the rock band Kiss, a group he co-founded early in the 1970s.

Gene Simmons Pictures, Images and PhotosSimmons has formed and been a part of many rock groups starting as a teenager. He formed a band in the early 1970s with Stanley Harvey Eisen (now called Paul Stanley). Dissatisfied with the sound and look of that band, Simmons and Stanley attempted to get rid of their band members. That did not work so they quit, walking away from a record deal. They decided to form the quintessential rock band, and began searching for a drummer.  Simmons and Stanley discovered an ad placed by Peter Criscoula, known as Peter Criss, who was playing in Brooklyn at the time; they joined and began as a trio. Paul Frehley, now known as Ace Frehley, responded to an ad they put had in the Village Voice for a lead guitar player. Now they were the forsome everyone knows. Kiss  released its self-titled debut album in February 1974. Stanley took on the role of lead performer on stage, and Simmons became the driving force behind what became an extensive Kiss merchandising franchise.
The Kiss costumes are officially licensed KISS products.
